The Democratic Parties involvement in the Iranian Nuclear Weapons Project
In1976 President Jimmy Carter successfully unseated President Gerald Ford. During his administration, he started up his Human Rights Policy, which he tried to force on the Shah of Iran. America at that time had been supporting the Iranian Government finically and militarily. So President Carter told the Shah that if he didn’t follow his Human Rights Policy, that he would pull our American Support. The Shah told the President that he was in charge of Iran not our President. So President Carter pulled our support.

The Ayatollah Khomeini, who felt the Shah, was too secular and wanted Iran to be Muslim, started a revolt after we pulled out of Iran. He was successful and the Shah had to flee to America. The Ayatollah captured our embassy, because our marines were told not to defend the embassy, and held everybody hostage for 444 days until President Carter was out of office. Now under the Ayatollah Iran has nuclear weapon.

It can be argued that Iran would still have nuclear weapons, however, Iran under the Shah would still be pro American and not a threat. That is, if they had nuclear weapons at all. We need to learn from our mistakes and stop giving our friends ultimatums on how to run their country. A good example is President Obama and Israel. DO WE NEED TO TURN ANOTHER ALLI OVER TO ANOTHER ENEMY? Remember on 9/11 the Palestinians were cheering in the streets over what happened to us, the U.S.

Another thing, the term Palestinian was originally used in reference to the Jewish people NOT the Arabs. Twenty Five years ago, if you called an Arab a Palestinian he would cut your throat. The Arabs realized that if they were going to take Israel from the Jewish people, they needed public sympathy. So they adopted the term Palestinian as their own and very successfully. Thank you

This is just a thought; I saw a bumper sticker on a car. "The first duty of Government is to protect the helpless from the powerful". My version is; "The first duty of Government is to protect the people from the Government."
