I refer to our Nation’s Capital as, Harvey Toone D.C. for a good reason. When I was growing up, I use to watch cartoons, some by Harvey Toone. Among these cartoons, was one called Baby Huey. Baby Huey was a huge baby duck; he was hunted by a very greedy fox who would try to kill him. The fox would come up with ideas to kill Baby Huey. The fox would tell Baby Huey some fantastic stories to get him to do what the he needed done in order to kill Baby Huey. When Baby Huey would hear these plots, he would respond with “That sounds logical”. Eventually he would get wise to the fox, and would say “You know what I think? I think you’re the fox and you’re trying to kill me.”
Our representatives in D.C. hear some really lame ideas, called bills. They respond as Baby Huey, “That sounds logical”. Unfortunately these bills become laws and we are stuck with them and the consequences of them. I could list some of the laws, but I am sure you have your own list. When our lawmakers stop acting like Baby Huey and spend some time thinking things through before voting, this Country will be a lot better off.
Thank you.
Harvey Toone D.C.
